MIL-certified High-Speed Camera System for airborne use
The 1.3Mpixel S-MIZE cameras from AOS Technologies are rugged high-speed cameras, with a frame rate of 500fps at full resolution.
The S-MIZE EM is suited for operating in the toughest conditions under high vibration and shock, extreme temperatures and high humidity. This high speed camera is especially equipped with functionality as required in airborne store separation tests.
The MIL 810 / MIL 461 tested camera serves duty in many defence system testing all over the world. The camera can be modified to fit specific needs, (e.g., interface signals, connectors etc).
MIL certified for use in the toughest conditions
The S-MIZE EM is particularly suited for all applications where a compact, portable camera is used under the most demanding environmental conditions. The camera employs a very light sensitive sensor and a sophisticated image processing algorithm embedded in the camera to fit the most demanding applications even under low light conditions.
The S-MIZE EM is designed and officially tested according MIL 810 and MIL 461 standards and offers a wide range of signals for external control or feedback on camera status during tests.
S-MIZE EM supporst IRIG-B data input for synchronization and/or data stamp. Multiple options are available such as an additional External Battery Pack, Compact Flash Card in camera, live SDI or analog video out to just name a few. Semi-customized camera design based on S-MIZE EM to fit into specific compartments is available as well.

S-MIZE cameras incorporate a high-accuracy image reconstruction algorithm, which is a primary element for superb image quality, and highly rated by independent users of the S-MIZE.
Compact, light weight rugged housing
The S-Mize cameras are built into compact, sturdy all-metal housings, convection cooled with no fan or vents, ideal for industrial settings with restricted space or for outdoor applications.
Internal battery operation
Despite its small size, the S-MIZE cameras include an internal rechargeable battery with a capacity of 30 min in standby mode or 15 minutes in active mode. An external supply/charger is used for stationary applications.
External rugged battery pack option for up to 3 hr operation available.
Easy to learn software
The cameras are delivered with the AOS Imaging Studio software with an intuitive, simple interface for adjusting camera settings, video recording and disk storage. The software includes powerful features for adjusting the video quality and a manual tracking and calibration feature for basic motion analysis.
Automatic download for unattended operation
AOS Imaging Studio allows automatic download and saving of image sequences immediately after recording, ideal for unattended troubleshooting applications.
Fast download via gigabit Ethernet
The Gigabit Ethernet connection enables full-resolution real-time display during camera setup and recording, as well as fast download of the video data from camera to PC. The GigE Ethernet allows up to 100 m cable between PC and camera using standard Cat6 cables.
Selectable dynamic range 5 – 10 bits
The variable gain and dynamic range options allows selection of the upper, mid or low 8 bits of the 10 bit data from the sensor, corresponding to a gain of 0, 2 and 4, respectively. The option also allows storage of image data in 5, 8 or the full 10 bits for balancing image dynamic range versus memory usage. With this option, one can acquire longer duration videos by reducing the image dynamic range.
Up to 10.4 GB internal memory
The internal memory bank can be supplied with up to 10.4 GB of memory, allowing recording up to16 sec video at full resolution and full speed. Longer sequences can be obtained by reducing the image size and by reduction of the image dynamic range.
