New CapTite™ components from LabSmith

LabSmith has expanded the line of CapTite™ fluid routing products to include new connectors and reservoirs for fluid circuit integration and prototyping.

CapTite™ products enable fast, simple construction of microfluidic circuits for microfluidic and nanofluidic experimentation. The CapTite product line includes valves, syringe pumps, multiport interconnects, cartridges, breadboards, bonded port connectors and other fittings to connect a variety of tubing sizes and materials. CapTite components are designed for leak-free connectivity, zero dead volume, low swept volume, easy cleaning and long life.


New products include:

 
Y Interconnects for mating three 360 micron O.D. capillaries or 1/32 inch tubing without right angles.

Needle Interconnects for connecting 0.016 inch I.D. flexible tubing in low pressure applications. Interconnects for joining three or four tubes are available.


Filter Holders, containing reusable membranes with porosity from 10 to 100 microns, for filtering particles that can clog chip channels or capillaries.
Breadboard Reservoirs, which hold up to 1.1 milliliters and mount directly to any LabSmith breadboard. Each reservoir has a total of three CapTite interfaces (two in the body and one on the optional cap) to connect 360 micron O.D. capillary or 1/16 inch tubing.
Integrated bread board (iBB) with a viewing window that mounts directly on the LabSmith SVM340 microscope for imaging a microfluidic chip. The iBB includes connectors for up to 8 LabSmith SPS01 miniature syringe pumps or AV201 series automated valves. The Breadboard includes self-threading holes for mounting all CapTite components for rapid prototyping of microfluidic circuits.

Also new from LabSmith is the AV201 2-position, 3-port automated valve, giving control of fluidic routing with a fraction of the footprint required by most motorized valves. The MV201 is the manual version of the valve with identical footprint.
The AV201 and the MV201 can be used for fluid routing at up to 10kpsi and are available for 360µm capillaries, 1/32” or 1/16” tubing. The valves include mounting holes for easy mounting on the LabSmith breadboards.
The valves are delivered with the new uProcess sequencer software, which also controls the PSP01 syringe pumps. With uProcess, it is easy to program flow routing sequences in microfluidics circuits.
