Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful non-destructive technique for characterizing layered structures and surfaces, interfacial phenomena, solar cell materials, fuel cells and much more.

Typically the impedance results are modeled as a combination of electrical resistors and capacitors so that, in well defined samples, the thickness and electrical properties of the constituent sub-layers can be determined. The results are generally complementary, and cost effective, when compared to other surface analysis methods such as electron or atomic force microscopy, neutron reflectometry, or quartz crystal microbalance gravimetry.

Typical application areas are varied and include surface corrosion, membrane structure and permeability, self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), biosensors, epitaxial layers, interfacial ion transport, battery and fuel cell characterization and performance, and biocompatible surfaces.

eDAQ ERZ100

Our product range include the eDAQ ERZ100 system, which is an economical solution for routine or teaching EIS experiments, where extreme resolution and accuracy is not required. It works with the eDAQ ET163 Potentiostat up to 100kHz, or any existing potentiostat that can accept an external signal and provide analog current and potential signals.

INPHAZE EIS

If extreme accuracy and resolution is required, the INPHAZE system provides industry-leading performance and the best accuracy and resolution on the market. The INPHAZE EIS is capable of accurately characterizing multilayer structures and biological structures down to monolayer thickness.

Modelling and fitting

Both systems come with complete software packages for data management, modeling and fitting to match the measured data to an equivalent circuit model.

eDAQ Electrochemical Impedance Analyzer

Turns a potentiostat or electronic load into an 0.01Hz – 100kHz EIS system

INPHAZE Impedance Spectrometer

High-resolution Electrical Impedance Spectrometer system for electrochemistry, thin films, bionics and nanotechnology.
